Just before Jesus ascended to heaven, He told His disciples: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). The Greek word translated "power" is dunamis and means a power that gives you an ability to do what you cannot do in and of yourself. Have you ever been faced with something seemingly impossible? Have you ever been given a responsibility that is much more than you feel you can handle? It is one thing to live in your own strength, but quite another when you live in the strength and power of God. Then your battle cry in life becomes, "I can't, but He can!"

When God sets your heart on fire with His power through His Holy Spirit, your life becomes contagious with the love and the joy of the Lord Jesus Christ. And when He shines in and through you, then His love spreads everywhere and touches hundreds of thousands of lives.
